Teachers and Students from GBC Canada Visited our Campus
On May 16th, six students from the George Brown College in Canada had a day visit in our campus, led by Professor Mrs Kimberly Bezaire, and Mr Nelson Hillier ,director of Nelson Mandela Child Care Center, George Brown College Lab School.
President Yang Jianliang and Cai Hongyu, director of the international exchange division attended the reception and talks. President Yang exchanged ideas with the guests about the history of school running, school governance, curriculum and campus culture. The guest teachers and students were interested in asking about the training and course setting of normal students to further understand the requirements and significance of our student's skill building. After the meeting, the guests observed some art classes, such as Fan Xiaohu's Chinese painting class, Shen Cong's black-and-white decorative painting, Zhu Bingxian's pipa playing, and Cao Jingwen's children's dance, which were all impressive to the guests.
At lunchtime, the visitors were individually “adopted” by our students to experience the campus life. The guests were accompanied by our students to go to the cafeteria for lunch then had the campus tour. They visited the professional classrooms, the training rooms, the library and the gymnasium, and some were also taken to the dormitory. Chinese and Canadian students strengthened their understanding and communication with each other in a very short time.
A small lecture named "Play Based Curriculum” presented by Professor Bezaire brought their visit to a climax in the afternoon. Professor introduced from Canada's current preschool education concept to classroom design by analyzing some cases, from the company of teacher to the company of family, encouraging and guiding our future kindergarten teachers. All the audience benefited a lot from the lecture.
