In the afternoon of 31^st October, Ms. Ma Jiale, who was invited by SECEC International Exchange Division, came to our school to give our students a lecture. Ms. Ma is a senior alumna as she graduated from our school many years ago.

After furthering her study in bachelor’s degree and being authorized the Australia New South Wales NESA teacher, she now works for the famous KU James Cahill Preschool. She has won the Australia Early Childhood Advocate prize and is currently a resident writer of You Jiao 365 (a Chinese renowned magazine in children’s education). Her public account on Wechat namely “小馬老師在悉尼”aims at sharing a series of practical lessons and conveying advanced teaching ideas.

With a persistent passion for children’s education and aspiration to become a more professional educator, Ms. Ma has collected abundant case lessons and teaching resources over the past 15 years. In this lecture, Ms. Ma provided our students with many teaching cases and practical instructions by sharing her own education and career path as well as advanced international preschool education principles, from which our students benefited a lot. 

Through the sharing of her education and career path, Ms. Ma expressed her vision for our students, which are: enjoy learning; try to conquer difficulties; to be confident; to be a reading-lover; to be an independent thinker and learn to reflect.

By analyzing the terms in Convention on the Rights of the Child--- the right to live, the right to develop, the right to participate in social activity and the right to be protected, she emphasized the need for a preschool teacher to respect children and be children-oriented in every detail during their daily life in kindergarten. After that, books including Living-education of Mr. Chen Heqin, and Children’s One Hundred Languages, Early Learning Theories Made Visible, etc. were also recommended for our students to further their learning and growth in preschool education. She once again emphasized the importance of reading, which will bring powerful impact to one’s life.

During the Q&A section, Ms. Ma was asked several questions about personal professional development and overseas preschool education. She was delighted that our students are so concerned about their major and the development of preschool education, and in the end, she conveyed her expectation that our students should grow into a person who can think independently, who is delightful and warm-hearted, and who both enjoy college life and adhere to one’s original dream. After the lecture, director Cai Hongyu of International Exchange Division sent Ms. Ma souvenirs on behalf of our college and expressed her thanks for the lecture, as well as her hope that future exchange should be continued.
